ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Klaus Johannsen, scientist and world traveller, has spent much of his working life on various aspects of satellite communications. He has searched the world ti learn of it's peoples and it's cultures, as well as to search out scientific information, especially related to satellite communications.

Passionate about his interests, Klaus has given full effort to his projects and could be counted on to create valuable results. In many ways a renaissance man, he immersed himself in his work  and the culture of the indigenous local natives. This book is a true and compelling testament to this.

His early schooling and fisrt college training was in Germany during and after Worls War II. After working as an engineer at Siemens in Germany and, later in Turkey, he eventually went to work for the US Signal Corps at Fort Monmouth, NJ on design of digital equipment. Hughes Aircraft, however, needed his talents in Los Angeles and he found a home there, working on many advanced space projects, including military him, especially if it involved travel to remote, exotic places, to check the system performance parameters of complex ground-to space communication links. It was during these travels that he stopped in Germany to fulfill the requirements for an earned Doctorate degree. His work on the Indian projects has been vital to their SITE success, as documented in his book.
